SIMDist user meeting
On June 2nd, 2015 the SIMDist User Meeting took place at our head office in Oberhausen.
After the initial welcome by our managing director Rolf Eichelberg, Dr. G. Albers introduced the participants to the single modules of the SIMDist Software. He demonstrated a number of examples and also offered some insight into the standards on which the software is based.
The software was developed for evaluation of simulated distillation in petrochemistry. The evaluation is performed on basis of different ASTM and DIN methods and is used to determine the C-number in hydrocarbon chains. In various Q & A sessions and discussion groups the participants talked about sample preparation, analysis and data evaluation. Furthermore, tips and tricks regarding sample preparation and specifications of ASTM and DIN standards were exchanged.
Presentations on different topics that are of importance in petrochemistry were offered: “Statistical Evaluation of Round Robin Tests and Reference Samples” (Dr. G. Albers), “Determination of Aromatic Content in Diesel Fuels in accordance to ASTM D5186 with the SIM SFC-FID system” (R. Eichelberg) and “Producing your own Calibration Gases with Alytech GasMix” (D. Uebachs).
For 2016 another meeting is planned in Hamburg.
