SIM develops new MOSH/MOAH 2D-MS solution

 

Mineral Oil Hydrocarbons (MOH) are a current topic in many areas of life. For example, mineral oil residues have been detected in various foods, packaging and cosmetics.

For the quantification of the detected MOH fractions, the online LC/GC-FID technique is currently the method of choice. Despite the widespread use of this method, the reliability of the data obtained with this method is always debated.

Together with our partner LECO, SIM has now extended the MOSH/MOAH standard analysis to include the LECO technologies GCxGC and TOF-MS. While it was previously only possible to make quantitative statements about the MOSH and MOAH fractions, it is now possible to precisely determine the components of the individual fractions. The robust system offers a high spectra acquisition rate and guarantees good sensitivity, so that false-positive results can be reliably excluded.

With the online LC/GC-FID technique and the 2D-MS system, our customers now have various options for MOSH/MOAH analysis.
