Newly developed coupling enables reliable analysis
SIM's direct inlet system (DIP) is an efficient inlet system for express analysis of pure samples and samples with high boiling points that could not be analyzed otherwise by GC-MS analysis.
To ensure high confidence in the detection and identification of analytes when using DIP, high resolution and high mass accuracy of the mass spectrometer are required. The Pegasus HRT4D 3 is well suited for this purpose as it combines high resolution mass spectrometry and GCxGC analytics. In addition, a new Multi Mode Source (MMS) has been developed that allows switching between the three ionization modes EI, PCI and NCI without cumbersome conversion processes.
The innovative Multi-Mode Source™ (MMS™) takes all the advantages of the three most popular ionization modes - Electron Impact Ionization (EI), Positive Chemical Ionization (PCI) and Negative Chemical Ionization (NCI/ECNI) - and combines them into one easy-to-use source.
In combination with the DIP direct inlet, the Pegasus HRT4D3 can be used even more versatile. Initial measurements show that the new MMS ion source is also suitable for direct measurements (MMS). At LECO, a variety of samples have already been analyzed with the SIM-DIP, including drugs, pharmaceuticals, contaminants in clothing and e-liquids (DIP/HRT).
