MicroJet Cryo-Trap
Add-on for performance of Heart-Cut analysis
Cryo-trapping is used with sample introduction devices that slowly introduce volatile compounds to a GC or GC/MS, such as thermal desorption units or head-space sampler.
With the new universal MicroJet Cryo-Trap, customers now can use the proven cryo-trapping technology with either Frontier Lab’s Pyrolyzers or other sample introduction devices from other vendors. Stable cooling cryo-trapping temperature of -196 °C can be achieved within 2 minutes from the start of liquid nitrogen jet. Once the nitrogen jet is terminated, the cryo-trapping section of the column is heated at a rate of 800 °C / min by heated air from the GC oven for rapid thermal desorption. The cooling temperature can be controlled by varying the N2 flow rate. An anti-icing feature prevents icing at the head of the column.
